Taking Photographs—White Balance

Release the WB button brieﬂ y and then press

the button until the icon in the control

panel starts to ﬂ ash. A blinking will also

appear in the control panel and viewﬁ nder

frame-count displays.

Frame the reference object so that it ﬁ lls the

viewﬁ nder and press the shutter-release but-

ton all the way down. The camera will mea-

sure a value for white balance and use this

value when preset white balance is selected.

No photograph will be recorded; white bal-

ance can be measured accurately even when

the camera is not in focus.

To exit without measuring a new value for white balance, press the WB

button.

If the camera was able to measure a value

for white balance, will ﬂ ash in the

control panel, while the viewﬁ nder will show

a ﬂ ashing . To return to shooting mode,

press the shutter-release button halfway or

wait until the exposure meters turn off.

If lighting is too dark or too bright, the camera

may be unable to measure white balance. A

ﬂ ashing will appear in the control

panel and viewﬁ nder. Return to Step 4 and

measure white balance again.
