The Shooting Menu (for A (Auto) Mode)

r Tapping the Monitor to Focus (Touch AF/AE)
1 Tap the subject at which the camera
focuses.
u or a double border will be displayed at
the area tapped.
When digital zoom is in effect, the focus area
cannot be selected.
To cancel the focus area selection, tap
a
displayed at the left side of the monitor.
If a position at which focus cannot be
acquired is tapped, X will be displayed in
the monitor. Tap another position inside X.
2 Press the shutter-release button to take a picture.
Press the shutter-release button halfway to acquire focus and
exposure and press it all the way down to release the shutter.
B Note on Touch AF/AE
When shooting a subject that is not suitable for autofocus, the subject may not be in focus (A 29).
C Touch Shooting Setting
The touch shooting setting applied in A (auto) mode is stored in the camera’s memory even after
the camera is turned off.
