Shooting Options: The Shooting Menu
The shooting menu contains the following options.
See “Using Camera Menus” (A 94) for more information on using
the menus.
* Available in a, b, c, and d modes only.
Only selected options for My menu (A 119) will be displayed if My menu is selected for
the CSM/Setup menu option (A 118) in the setup menu.
Optimize image* A 101, 102
Optimize images according to scene.
Image quality A 50
Choose image quality and file format.
Image size A 50
Choose image size.
White balance* A 52, 103, 104, 105
Adjust colors according to the light source. Fine tune white balance or choose a specific
type of fluorescent lighting from the shooting menu.
ISO sensitivity A 53
Raise sensitivity when lighting is poor.
Noise reduction A 108
Reduce noise at high ISO sensitivities and slow shutter speeds.
Active D-Lighting A 69
Preserve details in highlights and shadows, creating photographs with natural contrast.
