Taking Photographs—Self-Timer Mode
109
Autofocus
When autofocus is in effect, the camera focuses when the shutter-release button is
pressed. Do not stand in front of the camera when activating the self-timer.
Cover the Viewfinder
To ensure correct exposure in exposure modes other than manual, cover the viewfinder
eyepiece with the supplied DK-5 eyepiece cap or with your hand before pressing the
shutter-release button. This will prevent light entering via the viewfinder from interfer-
ing with the autoexposure operation.
4
Press the shutter-release button all the way down to start the self-timer.
The self-timer lamp (AF-assist illuminator) will start to blink, stopping two
seconds before the photograph is taken.
To turn the self-timer off before a photograph is taken, turn the mode dial to
another setting.
